The 1-dollar bill can bee taken as a symbol for the system of money by itself. It works like an indestructible fetish on which our society is built on. Covering the entire bill with black ball-point feels like a radical gesture within the inescapable system of money-exchange. It means to withdraw value, sense and function of a banal piece of printed paper. Or is the value of the dollar bills rather increasing by turning it to art? Through this project "Black Money" is coming into existence. The black bills can still be used: cash machines do not recognise the drawing.
