The geometric patterns result from the three different rulings of the exercise books (grades 1-3), drawn in repetitive, serial form, the individual patterns arranged symmetrically on the opposite pages of the notebook. A different pattern appears on each double page, each drawn with a school fountain pen and blue writing ink.
